GuruDesk — the command centre for coaching and tutors

GuruDesk coaching and tutor management platform
Who It Serves

India's coaching economy, every size and zone

Coaching looks different in every city — GuruDesk configures to the pattern, from Prayagraj's govt-exam halls to Hyderabad's IIT academies.

North — test-prep at scale

JEE/NEET factories (Kota pattern), UP/Bihar government-exam coaching (UPSC, UPPSC, SSC, Railways, Police) with 200-student halls, Hindi-medium content, hostel tie-ups and offline-heavy teaching that needs digital fee and test discipline.

South — academic + entrance blend

Integrated school+coaching academies (AP/Telangana pattern), NEET-focused institutes in Tamil Nadu, banking/TNPSC/KPSC streams, regional-language test papers, high parent expectations for analytics-rich progress reports.

East — affordability & batch density

Tuition-centre clusters (WB/Bihar/Odisha), board-exam focused batches, WBCS/BPSC prep, shared-smartphone households needing SMS fallback, and fee plans built around monthly collections rather than lump sums.

West — professional & franchise coaching

CA/CS/CMA classes (Maharashtra/Gujarat pattern), MBA-CET/CLAT prep, franchise chains needing centre-wise P&L, batch-transfer between centres, and GST-clean invoicing for education services.

Also built for the smallest guru: a solo home tutor gets the same engine in Tutor Mode — students, schedule, fees, tests and parent updates from one phone, priced for one person, upgradeable to a full institute the day you rent a classroom.

Who Feels The Difference

Students learn, teachers teach, owners sleep

Students

  • Branded app: schedule, notes, tests, ranks, doubts in one place
  • Error analysis that shows why marks were lost — silly/concept/speed (global test-prep best practice)
  • Practice by chapter and difficulty with PYQ tags
  • Rank movement over time, not just one bad Sunday

Faculty

  • Attendance and test entry from the phone in minutes
  • Doubt queue instead of 11 pm personal WhatsApp messages
  • Batch analytics: which chapter needs reteaching, visibly
  • Payout statements tied to sessions actually taken

Owners & parents

  • Owner: fee position, batch fill, enquiry conversion — one morning glance
  • Fee reminders that collect without awkward calls
  • Parents: proof of progress every fortnight, receipts forever
  • Selections wall + referral engine turning results into admissions

FAQ

GuruDesk — asked by institute owners

We run paper tests with OMR sheets. Does GuruDesk handle that?
Yes — print OMR sheets from GuruDesk, conduct on paper, and scan with a phone camera; results, ranks and error analysis compute automatically. Most institutes run hybrid: weekly paper tests plus online DPPs, both feeding one student analytics record.
Can students see each other's marks? We worry about morale and privacy.
You control it: ranks can be shown with names, with roll numbers only, top-10 only, or percentile-only. Parents see only their child. Faculty see full batches. Whatever policy you choose applies consistently across app and printouts.
We already use Excel + WhatsApp groups. Why change?
Because the owner is the software in that setup. Fee follow-ups, rank lists, batch messages, parent complaints — all route through one phone and one memory. GuruDesk keeps the WhatsApp familiarity (reminders and reports still arrive there) but the system does the remembering, and the data survives staff exits.
How fast can we go live before the new session?
A single-centre institute is typically live in about a week: we import students and fee dues from Excel, set batches and fee plans, train the front desk in Hindi or English, and run your first test on the engine. Peak season slots fill early — book the demo ahead of your admission drive.
What about our question papers — are they safe?
Your question bank is your IP: per-institute encryption at rest, watermarked PDFs with student identifiers, screenshot deterrence in the app, and access logs. Faculty can be limited to their subject bank. Export/delete anytime — the bank belongs to you, in writing.
Does it work for a single home tutor honestly, or is that marketing?
Tutor Mode is genuinely the same platform with a one-person interface: students, timetable, UPI fee collection with reminders, quick tests, and automatic parent updates. From ₹499/month indicative. When you grow into a centre, your data simply continues — that upgrade path is the point.
